What Makes a Good Wash & Shaving Bag for Men? We asked 100 men what was important to them and then designed the ultimate wash and shaving bag, constructed to look good and perform really well.

SIZE MATTERS. Yes, it does. All our men said that they wanted a wash bag large enough to fit all the neccessary toiletries required but not too big that it wouldn't fit comfortably into a travel bag or suitcase. Also, contents tend to get lost when a wash bag is too big and you end up rumaging around for ages trying to find that elusive pair of tweezers or toothpaste. Plus, when your wash bag is too big, it doesn't fit on the bathroom shelf. Conversely, when a wash bag is too small, it gets overstuffed and bursts at the seams. We think ours is the perfect size!

ORGANISATION. Our surveyed men said they wanted different compartments and pockets to be able to organise personal contents where they could be located quickly and easily. We've gone one step further and added some elasticated holders to help keep razors, shaving stick and toothbrushes in their place whilst our interior pockets are great for keeping shower gels and deodorants from rolling around. A place for everything and everything in its place.

SECURE ZIP FASTENING. Most men in our survey said that they like to be able to close their wash bag with a zip as this is the most secure way of stopping contents falling out at inopportune moments. We were happy to oblige.
GRAB HANDLE. As well as being able to carry your wash bag easily, some men told us it's nice to be able to hang it on a peg or the back of a door if space is tight. We've added a handle that is not too broad or too slim so that it's functional as well as stylish.
STYLE. When visiting family and friends or staying overnight in a hotel with your partner, it was important to have a respectable looking wash bag that you wouldn't be ashamed to own. Leather was seen to be a more luxurious, expensive looking product than fabric, PU or plastic. We've selected high quality full grain leather to make ours.

HOME OR AWAY. Quite a few of our men liked to use their wash bag both at home and for weekends away. That way, they didn't need to pack a separate travel wash bag but just pick up and go with the one they use on a daily basis, knowing that everything they need would automatically be in there.
BRAND NAME. Nearly all of our surveyed men agreed that a product with a brand name meant that it was guaranteed to be good quality. We have branded all our products proudly with our famous Bucklestone Branding Iron Logo.

PRICE. Value for money came out at the top of the votes, with the cheapest price coming a close second. A lot of our men were suspicious that a very cheap item would be just too poor in quality and not last very long. With very expensive products, some men felt you're paying for the brand name and it simply isn't worth paying the extra for. The majority of our men were happy to settle for a mid range price when purchasing for themselves as this was more likely to guarantee longevity and a satisfactory quality. We have therefore designed our products to be made as cost efficiently as possible but without compromising on quality.

GIVING GIFTS. When giving a wash bag to a more senior member of the family or relative, the majority of our surveyed men said they would spend a little bit more money to ensure that the gift they chose was a good quality one that would last the test of time. However, when giving to a younger brother or son, who was perhaps going to university, you would choose a cheaper one as they couldn't be completely trusted not to abuse it or lose it!

MESH POCKETS. Many of our men said they liked 'see through' pockets which are handy for locating items instantly and we thought this was a great idea, so we've added plenty.
HIDDEN POCKETS. One or two of our men wanted pockets that were not transparent; great for personal items that are, well, just personal. We've added some of those, too.
COLOURS. Brown came in as the favourite colour (ours is rugged and distressed), tan was the next most popular and black a close third.
